Holt Lodge Hotel Case Study

Holt Lodge Hotel is an independently owned hotel located in the borderland of Wales. When we arrived it was clear that their was no marketing strategy and everything was left to the General Manager to execute. So for us this was a carte blanche project. The business also had serious financial concerns at the time and so it was imperative for us to act quickly to recover the revenue as soon as possible which was being haemorrhaged to OTA's via commission.

We took the following steps:

New infrastructure - social media accounts were created, a new website built, CRM system put in-place, meetings and schedules arranged etc.

Strategy - the property desperately needed to leverage promotions for the various target audiences. So plans were devised for corporate, leisure and groups.

Promotions - Seasonality was key, leveraging summer for weddings, through to Christmas events from mid-weeks to NYE

By executing these campaigns, via strategies and the new infrastructure we in stalled discipline and processes that worked. We encouraged a data-driven mindset, and where campaigns didn't hit the mark, they were tweaked until we started to turn the numbers around for the property.

From the moment the website launched, we saw the website sales increase overnight and as the months rolled on, the revenue picked up albeit seasonality however the YOY comparisons always showed improvements. After two years the client decided to manage the processes themselves in-house and we remain in contact with them and wish them ongoing success.
